Project Description:
HOLT CAT has goals to improve environmental efficiency and take control of energy costs, as well as maximize return on investment. To achieve this, HOLT has implemented solar in its retail locations across the state and at its new headquarters building in San Antonio.
HOLT CAT implemented a multi-year rollout plan to take full advantage of the local utility’s one project-per-meter-per-year limitation. Three quarters of the system’s cost was paid for in year one with federal and state solar tax credits and energy savings. HOLT CAT receives up to $80,000 for each rooftop solar project, with two buildings adding three solar systems each. HOLT Renewables worked to identify the most viable roof areas; contributed to the design phase to ensure the roof of the new building would be solar-ready; and maintained a construction schedule that had minimal impact on operations. HOLT’s total solar capacity in San Antonio is 620 kW, adding to another 300 kW of solar at other HOLT locations in Waco, Austin, and Fort Worth.
