AmeriPride is a family-owned linen and uniform services company headquartered in Minnetonka, Minnesota. Founded in 1889, the company provides linen, uniforms, floor mats, and cleaning products to 150,000 customers every week. They operate more than 115 production facilities and service centers in the United States and Canada.
AmeriPride is one of the sustainability leaders in the commercial laundry industry. The decision to build a solar array at their Odessa, TX plant was part of a broader sustainability effort. AmeriPride also invests in alternative fuel vehicles, heat reclamation systems, equipment upgrades, and water conservation and treatment to conserve energy.
With a strong commitment to sustainability, the Odessa plant needed to meet high international standards for energy conservation. AmeriPride hired HOLT Renewables to ensure these standards were met.
HOLT Renewables & AmeriPride leadership worked together to design a rooftop solar system that fit their operations. The solar energy system is composed of Hanwha Q Cells 335 Watt panels and Fronius inverters. HOLT designed the system to offset approximately 15% of AmeriPride's energy use at its Odessa site.
To further offset financial costs, HOLT Renewables guided AmeriPride through Oncor’s cash rebate program. The rebate provided $0.85 per watt towards the cost of the solar energy system. AmeriPride was also able to secure federal tax credits to further reduce costs and improve ROI on the project.
Through leveraging solar power, Oncor rebates, and federal tax incentives, AmeriPride saved on energy costs. In an energy-intensive business like commercial laundry, this makes a big difference. Contact HOLT Renewables today to learn how we can help your business.
