BISHOP, CA, February 19, 2016 – PCI Solar is proud to announce completion of construction of an 82kW ground mount solar project for the City of Bishop, CA. The project, located in a spectacular setting near the Sierra National Forest, powers a well which provides water for city distribution.
The project is one of four solar projects for the City of Bishop and the Eastern Sierra Community Service District (ESCSD) in California by PCI Solar. It joins a portfolio of other solar projects built by PCI Solar for other Arizona water districts including the City of Bizbee. The Bishop and ESCSD projects were won in a joint RFP hosted by Terra Verde Renewable Partners. The four projects total 314kW and are designed to produce 10,000,000 kWh over 20 years.
PCI’s use of high quality equipment helps ensure reliable solar production for years to come with minimal maintenance. The solar modules are manufatured by Hanwha Q-Cells, which have excellent low light performance and temperature characteristics, perfect for the high desert conditions. The inverters are supplied by Solectria, and are designed to maximize return on investment (ROI) through their lightweight design, high efficiencies, easy installation, dual MPPT zones and wide MPPT range. Ground Mount racking, suppplied by RBI, is secured to the ground using driven piles. The rugged design is engineered to provide years of trouble-free operation. The racking is anchored with spread footings due to poor soil conditions at the site.
